Critique #2

A critique of Aron V's color assignment

Picture 1
The color red really popped out in this picture. The compositional strategies i noticed where shape and frame within a frame.

Picture 2
In this picture the color yellow really stood out to me. Even though it seems like there are a lot of plants on the ground the picture doesn't seem balanced to me. It makes me kind of sad too, because the yellow flower is all alone.

Picture 3
The color that stood out to me in this picture is blue, however the red in the background makes me look at the whole picture. The compositional strategies i saw were closed or open frame and horizontal format.

Picture 4
The color that stood out to me was red. I saw the compositional strategies of shape and curvilinear lines. The red on the curb draws my attention to the edges of picture and makes me wonder where the curb ends and what else is around it.

Picture 5
Even though this was a nature shot the brown leaves stood out to me. The compositional strategy i got was asymmetric balance. This picture made me wonder why are the brown leaves dead and all the other leaves not, or if the brown leaves are even dead at all and they're just meant to be brown.

Picture 6
The color that stood out to me was pink. I saw the frame within a frame compositional strategy. I know we are not suppose to center the subject in a photo but i think i would like this picture more if it was centered.

Picture 7
The main color in this picture is red and the compositional strategy i saw was open or closed frame. I thought the picture was a good picture but i wish there was more than one flower in the picture.

Picture 8
I thought the main color in this picture was white, however he red parts of the flower really drew in my attention. I think this picture is really well balanced.

Picture 9
There were a lot of colors in this picture but the purple flowers are what stood out the most to me. The place where he took this picture seems really beautiful. This picture makes me want to go there. Even though it seems like a lot is going on in this picture, as far as all the plants, it seemed really well balanced to me and i really liked it.

Picture 10
The main subject in this picture is white, but the yellow pollen is what stands out the most to me. Although the flower is on the right side the picture seems balanced to me because of the leaves in the bottom right corner.

Writing Assignment #1

I chose this picture because there is only one flower in the grass with a lot of dead leaves. The flower is really the only pretty thing in the picture and it seems to be the only thing that doesn't seem to be dying or already dead. This picture to me represents communities in the world. I believe its saying that no matter where you come from you can still grow to be something beautiful. In other words, even if bad things are going on around you it doesn't mean you have to be a bad person. I also took from this picture that even when a lot of death goes on around you, you still have the power to keep going and to live your life to best you can.  As long as you stay strong and keep believing you can do anything you put your mind to.
